About me
Bella Greenbacher is a curator, journalist, and multidisciplinary artist from Northampton, Massachusetts. Her work focuses on diversity of perspective, surrealism and socially engaged contemporary art, with an emphasis on amplifying misrepresented artistic voices.
Drawing on her background as a practicing artist working in oil painting, watercolor, fiber, charcoal, photography, and digital media, Greenbacher approaches exhibitions with a sensitivity to material, symbolism, and visual narrative. Her curatorial perspective is informed by an interest in political and social critique, personal expectations, and the overlooked beauty within everyday life. Her background as a Jewish woman informs her to approach her work through a feminist and multicultural lens.
Through both writing and exhibition-making, she seeks to create thoughtful spaces for dialogue around contemporary culture, identity, and expression.
